Accessibility is a central concern for the Austrian Alpine Club. Lived inclusion is understood as an opportunity – as a possibility to strengthen diversity, innovation, justice, and social cohesion. The Austrian Alpine Club is therefore committed to designing its website www.alpenverein.at in accordance with the  Barrierefreiheitsgesetz (BaFG)  as well as  Richtlinie (EU) 2019/882 on the accessibility requirements for products and services.

In doing so, we align ourselves with the Richtlinien für barrierefreie Webinhalte (WCAG) 2.2, Konformitätsstufe AA, as well as the European Standard EN 301 549 V 3.2.1 (2021-03).

Relaunch Project and Further Development

Our website is currently undergoing a comprehensive relaunch project. As part of this redesign, the aspect of digital accessibility, i.e., perceivability, operability, understandability, and robustness of our digital offerings, is being given high priority. The goal is to continuously further develop our web presence in order to provide all users – regardless of individual abilities or technical aids – with equal access to our digital offerings as far as possible.
