Alpine Training Courses with WELTbewegend
These alpine courses are organised for English speaking participants by WELTbewegend, the commercial arm of Alpenverein Edelweiss (a large ÖAV section based in Vienna).

Courses are booked via the WELTbewegend
website with a 20% deposit at time of booking and the remainder at least 20 days before the course starts. Members
must agree to WELTbewegend’s Standard Terms of Business.
AAC(UK) members with current membership and with paid
membership in the previous year are eligible to a grant up to
50% of the course cost. For Young Adults (aged 18 - 27 at the time of the course) the
grant amounts are up to 75% of course cost.
The full grant is payable on successful completion of the course.
How to apply:
- Grant Application and Course Resumé Forms needs to be completed before you make an online booking with WELTbewegend.
- These forms need to be returned to the AAC(UK) Office to check that you have the required membership history and experience.
- Once the AAC(UK) Office has confirmed this is acceptable then you can apply online for a place with WELTbewegend.
Resumé forms for all courses below are required to check applicants have suitable experience before making a booking with WELTbewegend. Even if you are not applying for a grant a Resumé form must be returned to the AAC(UK) Office for approval.
Once your application has been approved by the AAC(UK) Office you can then complete the WELTbewegend online booking form. In the box marked ‘Anmerkungen’ enter ‘Approved by Alpenverein Britannia’.

Advanced Klettersteig/via ferrata

For those with good experience of Klettersteig/via ferrata, who are progressing towards Klettersteig tour leader training. You receive instruction on more advanced techniques, and developing skills for leading klettersteig tours in the future.

For those with good hiking experience and who are new to Klettersteige/via ferratas. You receive instructions for the use of the equipment, techniques and tactics, to attempt via ferrata tours independently.
