The Alpenverein Weltweit Service (AWS) provides cover for all members of Österreichischer Alpenverein for rescues in the event of any accidents during leisure activities.
Members are entitled to a reduction in bed charges with huts in Austria belonging to the ÖAV (Austrian Alpine Club) and
DAV (German Alpine Club). Additional reductions with other mountaineering federation huts, The George Starkey Hut (UK), private guesthouses, and hostels are also available.
AAC(UK) volunteers organise a wide and varied program of activities for their fellow members, ranging from day walks through UK weekend meets to full weeks and longer at home and abroad.
The Expedition Fund operates on funds entirely donated by AAC(UK) members. It awards grants to members organising mountaineering expeditions if it considers such expeditions to be relevant to the Club’s aims, of a worthwhile nature and mindful of their possible impact on the environment and the Climate. We are particularly keen to support small independent expeditions run and composed of younger members in the early stages of their mountaineering careers.
