Der Boulder-Weltcup des Alpenverein Hall im Salzlager hielt alles, was er versprach, zwei österreichische Siege, für Stöhr und Fischhuber, 3.500 begeisterte Zuschauer bei allen Bewerben, fantastische Sportstimmung. Trotz internationaler Spitzenbesetzung konnten Anna Stöhr und Kilian Fischhuber in eindrucksvoller Manier die ersten Weltcup-Siege nach Österreich holen.

2008 IFSC season starts with a participation boom and two golden Austrians

Hall welcomes 136 climbers from 20 countries for the first event of the 2008 IFSC World Cup.

The two gold medals stay in Austria. After an exciting final, in front of more than one thousand of spectators, Anna Stohr and Kilian Fischhuber won the first event of the season, preceding, respectively, Yulia Abramchuk (RUS) and Angelica Lind (SWE), Dmitry Sharafutdinov (RUS) and Daniel Woods (USA).

In the Men's semifinals, Jerome Meyer was able to climb all the four boulders, followed by Gabriele Moroni (ITA) and Guillaume Glairon-Mondet (FRA), who climbed three boulders.
After the women's semi, Anna Stohr (AUT) leads the field, by one attempt on Yulia Abramtchouk (RUS) and Noguchi Akiyo (JPN)

Qualification round
53 women started this morning, 3 made a no-fault round, sending 5 boulders at the first attempt: Cecile Avezou  (FRA), Akiyo Noguchi (JPN) and Sandrine Levet (FRA).
In the afternoon, the  83 men ran their qualification heat. Only World Champion Dmitry Sharafutdinov (RUS) made  a no-fault series, preceding local hero Kilian Fischhuber (AUT) and Gabriele Moroni (ITA), with one attempt more.

Hall in Tyrol (AUT) is hosting this event for the third year in a row.
